Restrict use to designated routes where over-snow access <br />is required to protect lynx. . <br />Minimize-snow compaction during MDW monitoring to <br />protect lynx. Use remote monitoring of sites if possible. <br />70. Restore suitable lynx habitat during reclamation <br />activities. <br />71. Reclaim and obliterate temporary roads at project <br />completion. <br />72. Close project-created roads to public access in lynx <br />habitat. <br />73. Pre-disturbance surveys would be completed within the <br />potentially impacted delineated wetland and two <br />intermittent lakes, as specified by the Forest Service, to <br />ensure that northern leopard frog populations are not <br />adversely impacted. In the event that breeding northern <br />leopard frog populations are documented within the <br />surveyed wetlands, disturbances to these wetland areas <br />would be postponed until early June and the completion <br />of the breeding season (CDOW 2003). <br />74. For the Dry Fork Lease area, include the following for <br />lynx (Dry Fork Federal Coal Lease-by-Application <br />(COC-67232) Record of Decision): <br />Winter Access will be limited to designated routes <br />. Establish an education program for MCC's employees <br />about presence of lynx and safe driving practices; <br />Report lynx sightings or lynx carcass fmdings to the <br />USFWS within 24 hours; and, <br />Provide an annual report of all activities which may <br />affect lynx to the USDA-FS and USFWS. <br />75.
