Facilities Area: The area immediately east of the Dutch Creek Flume, and west of the Old Refuse Pile
was observed. Members of the CVEPA are interested in enhancing vegetative success in this area by
planting additional trees and shrubs. This area is very rocky and is covered with a minimal amount of
fine grained dirt. The Division is amenable to helping finance some amount of enhancement for the
area, specifically by importing a small amount of topsoil to create vegetative islands in the area.
However, no more than $5,000 would be dedicated to this work, and then only if higher priority
maintenance work allowed for this amount of money to be expended. The Forest Service stated that
the proposal would be a very low priority as the area is stable and not susceptible to erosion.
Dutch Creek Diversion: The inner channel continues to meander within the confines of the outer
channel. Cutting in some areas, and deposition in other areas is observable. The channel is currently
functioning as designed.
