III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br /> Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br /> during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br /> and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br /> This was a complete inspection conducted by Kent Gorham of the Colorado Division of <br /> Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (Division). A final Phase III bond release application is <br /> pending for the majority of the reclaimed area at this site. Ground conditions were dry and <br /> the weather was cool and breezy. Ron Thompson of Peak Project Management represented <br /> the operator during the inspection of the public records. <br /> Availability of Records <br /> The public copy of the mine records is kept at the office of Peak Project Management (PPM). <br /> The contact, address, and phone number for PPM is Ron Thompson, Peak Project <br /> Management, 34115 County Road 20.8, Trinidad, CO 81082, 719-846-4975. All records <br /> were found in compliance as detailed on page 2a of this report. <br /> Reveoetation <br /> The reclaimed area <br /> of former pond 2 <br /> series has been <br /> slightly encroached <br /> upon by a coal bed <br /> methane drill pad <br /> (shown at right).m Vegetation on ost <br /> of this area Is alma <br /> excellent due to the <br /> aspect and gentle <br /> slope next to the <br /> stream channel of <br /> Ciruela Canyon. <br /> Soil Methane Area <br /> Some of the area <br /> east of the mine site <br /> that has been affected by methane in the soil profile has been recently hydro-seeded due to <br /> a pipeline disturbance. Whether this affected area shows new vegetation growth will not be <br /> known till early next spring. <br /> Overall, this reclaimed site appeared in excellent condition for the fall season. <br /> 3 <br />
