(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-1993-087
INSPECTION DATE 10/24/2007
OBSERVATIONS
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS DEZ
This inspection of Permit Number M-1993-087 (Weeden Pit #30) was conducted by Deb E. Zack of the DRMS and as part of
the Division's routine monitoring protocol. Baca County representative Danny Ausmus was available for this inspection. The pit
is located approximately 1 mile east and 9.5 miles north of Two Buttes, CO near the intersections of Prowers County Road's 21
and D and currently consists of approximately 160 acres, of which only 9.8 acres have been disturbed.
The mine entrance sign and permit boundaries were all clearly marked. Activity is currently restricted to the southwestern
corner of the site. Adequate topsoil is stockpiled at the southern and southeastern portions of the current active portion of the
site.
The Operator inquired as to the procedures required by the Division in order for the County to mine additional permitted
acreage for this and other 112c sites. This inspector committed to the Operator to determining what steps are necessary.
Information regarding this question will be sent to the County soon, under separate cover.
All other activities and completed work at the time of inspection appeared to follow the guidelines and regulations set forth by
the state and in the mining and reclamation plans for the pit. The site is stable and no disturbance was observed outside of the
approved permit boundaries. At the time of this inspection there appeared to be no long-term (greater than 72 hours) water
retention.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Deb E. Zack at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety,
Denver Office, 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203, phone number 303-866-4179.
I & E Contact Address cc:
^ CE
NAME Glen Ausmus ^ BL
OPERATOR Baca County ^ FS
STREET 741 Main Street ^ HW
CITY/STATE/ZIP Springfield, CO 81073 ^ HMWMD (CH)
^ SE
^ WQCD (CH)
^ OTHER
cc: Tony Waldron, DRMS via a-mail
