Sherman
Executive Director
Ronald W. Cattany
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
As a part of the Division's regular Inspection and Enforcement schedule I conducted an inspection of
the Marr Mine (Permit No. C 1980-006) on November 13, 2007. The mine site was dry and free of snow
cover. I took special notice of the SW corner of Pit 1, which had caused concern during the joint
October 23, 2007, bond release inspection that you attended. Free of snow, the SW corner of Pit 1
looked as I had remembered, with slightly less vegetative cover than surrounding reclaimed slopes, but
not eroding to the point of concern.
Please find a copy of my report from November 13, 2007, which also include several photos of the
southwest corner of Pit 1. Please call me if you have questions or wish to discuss this matter further.
Once, again, thank you for accompanying the Division on the October 23, 2007 inspection.
Sincerely,
anet H.
(3
Protection Specialist II
Attch: Nov. 13, 2007 Marr Inspection Report
Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver Grand Junction Duran o Office of
g Active and Inactive Mines
