NOR't.,~11EST COLORADO CONSULTAN i.i, INC.
FIELD REPORT
Project: Sectlon 28 Pond Project No.: 07-7fi49
Location: Colowyo Mine Report No.: 6
Client: Anson Excavating & Pipe
Date: 9/12(07
Time: 5.0
Mileage: 109
Engr.ITech: RE
Work Performed:
As requested, we visited the project site on this date and conducted compaction test No.'s 26 through 28, as well
as re-test No.'s 26A, 27A and 28A on the material being placed for the Section 28 Pond keyway trench backfill.
Ttre excavation contractor, Anson Excavation and Pipe, placed, moistened and compacted on-site materials along
the keyway trench.
We obtained two samples of the materials located at the possible borrow area to the west of the pond site and
returned them to our laboratory for standard Proctor and classification testing. The upper sample will be referred to
as Proctor Sample Number 9P for this project and the lower sample will be referred to as Proctor Sample Number
10P.
Remarks:
The material tested appeared to not be adequately mixed at the time of initial testing, which led to low compaction
results. The contractor then excavated and re-mixed the lift before recompacting. Upon re-tes#ing the materials
appeared to be properly compacted and uniformly moistened.
The material tested generally met the project specifications for compaction and moisture content.
Please refer to the attached sheet for results of todays testing.
Verbal Discussions:
Dusty Wiseman of Anson Excavating was notified of today's test results.
Att. A3-3
