APRIL SURVEY <br />The April survey flight was conducted on April 29, 1992 using a Cessna 182. The weather <br />conditions at the time of the flight consisted of temperatures ranging from 40-50°F, winds were 0-5 mph <br />from the east, and skies were cleaz. Snow was present on small azeas on north facing slope under <br />Douglas Fir forest. Aspen trees were starting to leaf. Oakbrush had not started to leaf. The survey was <br />initiated at 0745 hours and terminated at 0930 hours. A survey of Seneca II Mine was from 0745 to 0815 <br />hours. The Yoast azea was flown from 0815 to 0845 hours. The Seneca II -West azea was flown from <br />0845 to 0930 hours. <br />Most of the deer and elk observations were of small groups or single animals making <br />observations difficult. Animals bedded were extremely difficult to observe. <br />Seneca II - Three eagles were observed. One adult was observed neaz the nest site in section <br />27 with one chick in the nest. An adult was observed on the nest in Section 13 but none were observed <br />at the nest site in Section 3 as they were in Mazch. Most of the deer and elk were feeding in small <br />groups. • <br />Yoast -Several groups of deer and elk were observed, however, most observations were of <br />single animal. No eagles were observed. <br />Seneca II -West -Numerous deer were observed within the survey azea. Many of the deer <br />were observed in the northern portion of the survey azea. Few elk were observed. One adult golden <br />eagle and one chick were observed at the nest site in Hubberson Gulch of Section 21. <br />u <br />8 <br />
