1 STORMWA TER MANAGEMENT PLAN
' PROJECT: Wellington Downs Pit
' LOCATION: SW 1/4 of Section 3, Township 6 North, Range 68 West, of the 6th
P.M., Larimer County, Colorado
RECEIVING WATERS: Mallard Creek to Cache La Poudre River
CONTACT PERSON: David Simpson
' Vice President
Connell Resources
' 4305 East Harmony Road
Fort Collins, Colorado 80525
(970) 223-3151
' 1.0 Site Description
This site is the future location of an aggregate extraction operation. 1-25 is located to the east of
the property, with Larimer County Roads 47 and 436 bordering the property on the west and
south, respectively. Drainage at the site is generally from northwest to southeast. There is an
existing stockpond in the northern portion of the site, and irrigation ditches on both the east and
west sides. This property consists of 109.5 acres of which approximately 93 acres will be
disturbed by the mining operation.
The site is located within the Cache La Poudre River 100-year floodplain. The floodplain
boundaries are shown on the included site map. This information was taken from the November
17, 1993 FEMA Panel# 080101 208. A portion of the Cache La Poudre River floodway also
passes through the site. This is due to the undersizing of the I-25 bridge passing over the river
' north of Harmony road.
2.0 Description of Operation
This operation will be an aggregate extraction operation using dry mining techniques requiring
dewatering of the site. Aggregate extraction will occur from the south towards the north, with
phases proceeding from the west to the east. This operation will produce approximately 200,000
to 250,000 tons of materials per year.
Crushing and screening equipment will be brought on-site to create and size aggregate for road
base materials and asphalt materials. Aggregate washing facilities with wash ponds will also be
located on site. An asphalt batch plant will be brought on site in the future.
An office trailer and a truck scale will be set up near the access point of the site. A haul road will
' be constructed in the southern portion of the site to access the scale, office, final product
stockpiles and asphalt batch plant.
1 1
