There is only one sampling date for the Harvey Gap Seep for total <br />required chemical parameters and that was done in 1984(December 19, 1984). A <br />full year has gone by without anything but field parameters taken. I may be <br />mistaken, but that seems like a very long time even if the seep must be <br />sampled only one time per year. Additionally, from what I can determine there <br />has been only one time that the mine discharged to the stream; and, <br />consequently only one complete chemical suite was done for the mine water. <br />Correct me if I am wrong. <br />Generally, analysis of the test data or chemical parameters required indicates <br />a possible improvement in water quality over pre-mining baseline data with <br />only minor exceptions. This may be due in part to higher precipitation, <br />diluting the ground water supplies; although water levels do not necessarily <br />reflect this. <br />The only parameters that show a slight increase are manganese in the Harvey <br />Gap outflow (0.22 -January 15, 1986, 0.13 - December 18, 1984, mg/1) and <br />zinc (0.006 - April 30, 1485). Additionally, selenium in the mine discharge <br />is slightly high (0.017 - June 27, 1985). These levels are slightly higher <br />than some recommended levels such as Secondary Drinking Water Standards and <br />EPA suspect levels, but are not significantly higher.
