DMG Permit No. M-88-112 Monthly Sampling Dear Mr. Dillie: All required sampling was completed during the month of June. the NANO/RO water treatment plant was down for 10 days during the month for maintenance and to remove the high brine water from ponds # 1 and #2. A total of 5,127,300 gallons of water was treated and discharged into Rito Seco during the month of June. As discussed with you, SF-1 well was sampled this month. This well continues to recover very slowly. Work continued on the stormwater system from the West Pit bockfill. All surface water stalions were inspected and RS-4 and RS-6 were found to be dry. Vacuum on the lysimeters was verified and no water was present to sample. When we checked the piezometers on the main embankment of the tailings impoundment on 6/26/00, the piezometers were dry or contained below 12 inches of water. The two west pit piezometers were measured for depth to water on 6/28/00, with the following result: BF-1 was 26.30 ft and BF-2 was 29.91 it. The other piezometers in the West Mine area were also checked v:ith the folloving result: P'+V-i was 2;.81 ft, F'vJ-2 'was 27.38 ft, P'/J-3 was 35. i4 ft and PW-4 was 30.1 I it. the underdrain was measured at approximately 32 gpm. The collection pond's leak detection system was pumped and sampled on 6/26/00. The leak was approximately 28 gpad. The seeps remain dry. 5,300,600 gallons of water was pumped from the evaporation system collection pond to the failings impoundment.
