Barra
Drvu.on D~~eao~
This letter is written in response to your correspondence of April 16, 1990.
In that letter Cyprus Empire Corporation (C EC) proposed to use the herbicides
Picloram (trade name Tordon) and Dicamba (trade name Banvel) at the rate of
1/2 lb/ac along with selected burning to treat several areas (topsoil
stockpiles, roadsides, pond outslopes) infested with Russian knapweed
(Centaurea repens).
The Division concurs with ttlis treatment strategy and would caution CEC to
accurately document the spraying activities (dates applied, weather
conditions, areas sprayed, treatment rates, etc.). Picloram is known to be
highly mobile, residual herbicide and in the event off-target damage occurs
accurate records would be available. Dicamba is also a mobile, residual
herbicide but to a lesser extent than Picloram.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
E~~ ~ ~~
Anthony J.
