grazed during the months of November - May.
4) SEPTEMBER HAYING/WINTER GRAZING: Unit D will be hayed
around September 30 or later if the seed pods are not dry and
dehiscent. Hay aftermath will be grazed during the winter months of
November - May. This treatment has been added to address the
concern of haying on orchids during their peak flowering season.
5) WINTER GRAZING: Unit E will be grazed only from November - May
and no haying will occur.
Because Soiranthes diluvialis is an endangered species, the plan will be
flexible to address any changes in orchid health and distribution. Any treatment that
appears to further endanger the orchid will be addressed immediately.
REIMBURSEMENT AND NOTIFICATION
This plan removes land from grazing and timely haying. Owner is responsible
for reimbursing the lessee as outlined in the lease for all acreage withdrawn from
grazing and/or haying. Additionally, owner will be responsible for reimbursing lessee
for the nutrient loss in forage that is hayed in September or later instead of August.
Owner is also responsible for reimbursing lessee for any cost incurred from
irrigating units in which production is affected, as determined by the owner's
Agricultural Manager.
Owner is responsible for notifying lessee of any changes to the management
plan for this area. Owner is also responsible for clearly designating the boundaries
of the different treatment areas.
