The new area is located to the west of the facilities area, and wi71 be <br />known as the West Valley Fill. Technical Revision Number 29 was approved in 1997, but due to the <br />timing of the approval, and the necessary requirements to put a contract in place for the work, <br />constnrction ofthe.West Valley Fill did not begin until 1998. Kiewit Western Company was <br />awarded the contract, and construction was started during the quarter. The perimeter ditches and the <br />underdran has been completed. P:rotogaphs of the und„ardrair. were ta;;en, and are on file at the <br />mine. Final preparation of the waste area is still pending, and should be completed during the third <br />quarter. I have monitored construction of the new waste area on a daily basis, and inspected the area <br />during the critical wnsluction periods specified by Rule 4.09.1(11). <br />B <br />2 <br />P.O.
