Given that there is no
plan for expansion of the project and that the work through 1989 has continued
in accordance with the plan approved in 1984, I concur that no additional
revisions or amendments are necessary at this time. Your letter of
February 10, 1989 will suffice as the 1989 update. Exxon will still need to
continue the environmental monitoring and submit the annual reports. It is my
understanding that development work will continue to include research and
study at the site as well as related work at the Houston headquarters office.
As I discussed with you during our meeting, the Division will inspect the site
this year. I believe that after the inspection it may be appropriate to
report to the Mined Land Reclamation Board the results of the inspection and
the status of the site.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call me or
Bruce Humphries, the new supervisor of the Minerals Program.
Sincerely, ~
((~/ n L-.
F ~l2 - B nta
~ector
FRB/frb
5067E C O L O NY.
o _(~~~~
APR 131989
215 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203-2273 Tel.
