Division response:
The Division continues to review this data in conjunction with
the semi-annual subsidence report.
Water Ouantity and Quality Analysis
At this time the Division plans to conduct a thorough water
quantity and quality analysis in conjunction with the PR-03,
Eastern 'Mining District application. However, after a brief review
the Division has the following comments:
1. The Division will require immediately that TCC begin
monitoring all Trout Creek sandstone wells in the permit and
adjacent area due to the apparent depressurization of this
aquifer in the vicinity of the mine. This requirement is a
permit commitment found and can be found on page 2.05-111 of
the currently approved permit.
2. It is also noted by the Division that the water level in GWAP-
7 along Fish Creek stands 3.6 feet below the baseline
elevation. If and when this well recovers from subsidence,
the water level should be at approximately 6785.9 feet above
MSL.
3. The data provided does for GWB-1 and GWB-2 does not match the
corresponding figures provided. Please explain and correct
this apparent discrepancy.
Due to apparent data omissions, the Division is considering an
enforcement action. Please respond to the above issues within 5
days of receipt of this letter.
If you have questions, please call me.
Since ly, '
'~/
Ke A.
