We also
understand that topsoil balance information is being complied in conjunction with the
on-going permit renewal. Seeding areas and dates are noted in the cover letter. For
future reports, please ensure that seeding information is tabulated and included in the
report itself on a cumulative basis.
Under the section Government Performance and Results Act, a value of 420 acres is
noted for areas in" long-term mining or reclamation facilities." This value is well in
excess of the total disturbed area currently at the site. Typically, this value would equal
the. total disturbed area when added to the "acreage in active mining areas." (See 2001
Lorencito ARR) Please review this value and adjust accordingly.
The raptor nesting survey was noted as required by the approved permit.
We have no further questions at this time- Thank you for your diligence in completing
your monitoring and reporting requirements. If you have any questions, please call me.
Since ely,
~~f ~,~
Kent Gorham
Environmental Protection Specialist II
cc: Dan Hernandez, DMG
