DEEPE FARM PIT <br /> Annual Monitoring Report <br /> June, 1985 - June, 1986 <br /> This is the third annual monitoring report for the Deepe Farm <br /> Pit operated by Flatiron Sand & Gravel Company, P.O. Box 229 , <br /> Boulder, CO 80306. It covers the period of June, 1985 thru <br /> June, 1986. <br /> The following questions and answers are submitted to meet require- <br /> ments for annual reports to the PILRB. <br /> 1. What are the locations and numbers of acres affected during <br /> the past year? <br /> Excavation is now complete on the southern most settling pond. <br /> Excavation continues on approximately 4 acres adjacent to <br /> this settling pond. See map. <br /> 2. What are the locations and numbers of acres reclaimed this year? <br /> No area is completely reclaimed since mining is still in <br /> preliminary stages. All excavation has occurred in Stage 1 <br /> which is the plant site area. This area has been lowered <br /> approximately ten feet below original grade to limit noise <br /> and for aesthetic reasons . Reclamation will occur in Stage <br /> 1 after all other areas are mined and reclaimed. <br /> 3. What are the locations and numbers of acres in various stages <br /> of reclamation? <br /> Approximately 2 acres in the northeast permit area have been <br /> shaped in preparation for planting. See map. <br /> 4 . What species of vegetation have been planted? What are the <br /> locations and approximate dates of planting? <br /> No planting has been done during this reporting period. <br /> 5. What are the types , quantities and locations of fertilizers used? <br /> No fertilization has occurred during this reporting period. <br /> 6 . What is the company's appraisal of reclamation efforts? <br /> It is still too early to evaluate. <br /> 7 . What are the locations and numbers of acres to be affected <br /> during the next reporting year? <br /> Stripping is to begin on the 20 acres in Stage 2 in preparation <br /> for excavation to begin in this area.
