The previous report year saw no mining at this site.
During the report year, the plant site was stripped of overburden, which was stockpiled as
shown on the map and utilized in the reclamation backfill for "pit-side" river stabilization
per UD&FCD requirements, and the gravel plant was put into operation. The
sedimentation ponds and freshwater pond were reconfigured and put into operation.
Mining progressed north from the plant site and encompassed approximately 7 acres.
Approximately 1.2 acres were reclaimed as backfilled "pit-side" river stabilization. No
seeding or revegetation was implemented on this permit site as the overburden stockpile
is in various stages of disturbance with the addition and subtraction of material.
Mining during the next reporting year will be located on the lower bench in Area 3 of the
permit azea. This mining will be accomplished during the low-flow period for flooding
on the S. Platte River ending on April 1, 2002. Mining will also continue in Area 1 east
of the currently mined-out portion. Reclamation will be implemented as backfill to grade
with quarry rock and overburden in the mined-out portion of Area 3.
Per the requirements of this permit, attached are groundwater-monitoring results for the 6
monitoring wells located on the permit area. We have received no complaints from
