-2-
be installed may suffer some damage in extreme events such as the 100 year
flood, but is not expected to require any significant maintenance as a result
of storm events of lesser magnitude or the most extreme spring melts. Peak
velocities approach the limiting velocity (14 fps) for the non-cemented rip
rap lining only in the 100 year storm runoff event. The lined channel would
not be expected to sustain as much damage as a natural stream under similar
conditions.
The fill adjacent to the Dam Access Road will be topsoiled as a part of
this project and revegetated using the techniques described in Attachment I.
• Upon completion of the earthwork and revegetation associated with this fill,
the area should be in a condition satisfying the requirements for permanent
reclamation, although Exxon has no plans to file for bond release for this
particular area at this time.
The additional filling at the Switchyard Fill will serve the dual
purpose of creating additional flat terrain near the plant site as well as
providing a site to use any excess borrow produced in excavating the channel
in Davis Gulch.
