A. J. Waldron -4- June 29, 1995
2. Bear Coal Company is willing to sample the North Fork of the
Gunnison River. The enclosed monitoring location map shows the
proposed upstream and downstream monitoring locations. Please
let us know if these locations are acceptable and Bear will
initiate the sampling.
3. The Division indicates that the Findings Documents dated April
29, 1994 states there are several domestic wells located along
the river in alluvial material. Bear is not aware of any
domestic wells located along the river in the alluvial
material. Permit Figure 6, page 2.05-55e, presents the water
rights location map. None of these water rights are domestic
wells.
4. The following information is provided for the alluvial wells.
A completion diagram for the wells is enclosed.
Well Designation
and Location Casing
Elevation Ground
Elevation Bottom
Elevation
Well AA1 Downstream 6010.5 6008.3 5988.3
Well AA3 Upstream 6015.6 6013.3 5993.3
5. The Division's comment is noted. See discussion above.
6. Enclosed are revised tables for the Alluvial Well Monitoring
Field Data table and the upper French Drain table.
Please call if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Jim Stover, P.E.
Consulting Engineer
cc: Basil Bear
