Nc Primary Refuse Disposal Area <br />Inspection Period: Third Quarter 2006 <br />Inspection Date: September 28, 2006 <br />General Description or Reference to Site Pfan: <br />The refuse area lies west of the main facilfties area. Refuse has been placed in designed lifts <br />on a relatively fiat terrain. Upslope runoff is diverted away from the disposal area, white runoff <br />from the disturbed area is channeled ho a sediment control pond. The mine is in final <br />reclamation and all areas have been sloped to final grade, covered with topsoil, and seeded <br />and mulched. <br />11Y~~~1 ~/ ~D <br />oEC z c zoos <br />Division of r;aclamation, <br />Mining and Safety <br />Drainage: (Discussion of springs. seeps, overland and channel flow, underdrain construction andlor <br />discharge, integrity of 100-year 24-hour drainage structures, and evidence of positive drainage). <br />All required underdrain construction has been completed. <br />Observation of Fill Construction: (Description of material, compaction, lift thicknesses, slopes, <br />and construction methods). <br />No refuse placement has occurred since December of 2000. Prior to cessation of mining, waste <br />material was placed in alternating lifts of fine and coarse material in accordance with the plan as <br />described in the TenaMatrix report dated December 5, 1996. <br /> <br />
