February 2003 Hayden Gukh Miuc 2002 Annual Reclamation and Hydrohgy Report ~ Page 5 <br />3.3.1 Quarterly Pond Inspections <br />As the above statement indicates, ponds 003 and HG-8 are now permanent watering ponds for <br />wildlife and livestock The CDMG rescinded jurisdiction over the ponds in a letter dated August 18, <br />1999. A copy of the CDMG's August 18, 1999 letter is presented in Exlilbit 5. Consequently, <br />Hayden Gulch Mine no longer inspects the ponds to satisfy CDMG requirements, and there were no <br />inspection events during calendaz yeaz 2002. <br />3.3.2 CDPS Discharge Monitoring <br />In response to the CDMG's finding-that Sediment Ponds 003 and HG-8 were no longer pact of a <br />mine sediment control system, bu[ were watering ponds for wildlife and livestock, the Watet Quality <br />Control Division approved the de-certification of the CDPS monitoring requirements in a letter to <br />HGCC dated October 29, 1999. Consequendy, Hayden Gulch Mine no longer monitors dischazge <br />from the ponds, and there were no monitoring events during calendaz yeaz 2002. <br />MIGH * P.O.
