Kvaerner Metals Project No. 306900 <br />General Specification No. GC-18 <br />Geosynthetic Lining <br />The test results shall be provided to the Engineer within two working days <br />following the cutting of coupons. Additionally, at Engineer's option, selected <br />coupons may be sent to an independent laboratory for confirmation testing. <br />' 6.3 HDPE Continuity Testing <br />A maximum effort shall be made to install awater-tight liner. This implies that the <br />seams completed in the field, patches, and extrusions shall be tested for leakage <br />and recorded. All failures shall be isolated and repaired as directed by the <br />Engineer and retested. Testing for leakage may be by inter-seam pressure, <br />vacuum box, or other approved methods. <br />The Contractor's field engineer shall inspect each seam, marking his initials and <br />date inspected at the end of each panel. <br />The lining system will be accepted by the Engineer after all seams have been <br />' verified, any testing required by the Engineer is completed, and all documentation <br />for installation approved. <br />7.0 CLEAN-UP <br />' Clean-up within the work area shall be an ongoing responsibility of the Contractor <br />throughout the course of the work. Particular care shall be taken to insure that no trash, <br />tools, and other unwanted materials are trapped beneath the liner. <br />' Upon compi~tion of the work, the Contractor shall remove, from the site of the work, all <br />tools, machinery, scraps of liner material, rubbish and all other waste materials for which, <br />' in the opinion of the Engineer, he or his subcontractors are responsible and shall leave <br />the work free and clear from all obstructions and hindrances. <br /> <br /> <br />u <br /> <br /> <br />1 <br />J.V069~WP~SPEC1STRl1GT~GC185PC.OOC.
