These factors included the
presence of water capable of carrying seed to new locations, the potential to spread by
wind or gravity (i.e., steep slopes}, and the potential to spread by vehiculaz traffic or
mine operations {i.e., application of organic amendments, earth movement, etc.).
• Ability to Control-A three-point system was used to rate the ease of control at
' infested locations. Sites where control can be easily implemented were rated 3. Sites
where either water resources (i.e., lentic or lotic water bodies) or desirable broad leaf
plant species are present that represent impediments to expeditious control and
require additional care in implementation of eradication measures were rated 2.
t Infested sites where both water and broadleaf plants are present were rated 1. The
rating system is assigned as indicated in Table 2.
' Table 2: Ability to Control Ratings

Favorable Conditions Broadleaf Plant Species Present Water Resources Rating
Easily implemented Absent Absent 3
Additional care needed PresendAbsent Present/ Absent 2
Additional care needed Present Present
Habitat Management, [nc.
3
3/22/2004
