SUBSTITUTE SUPPLY PLAN FOR THE
L.G. EVERIST MARYLAND CREEK RANCH
AGGREGATE OPERATION
(CDMG M-96-049)
INTRODUCTION
This report has been prepazed pursuant to Senate Bill 93-260 (S.B. 260) to provide the
engineering basis for a Substitute Supply Plan at the L.G. Everist, Inc. (L.G. Everist) Maryland
Creek Ranch aggregate operation (MCR operation) near Silverthorne, Colorado. The MCR
operation has a permit pending (M-96-049) from the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology
(CDMG). This substitute supply plan has been prepazed to satisfy concerns raised by the CDMG
relative to the replacement of out-of-priority depletions resulting from the proposed aggregate
mining operation and to meet the requirements of S.B. 260.
This engineering report contains a quantification of the water requirements, as well as a
description of the source of replacement water, at this site for the two yeaz period that this
substitute supply plan will be in effect. This plan specifies how the depletions to the Blue River
resulting from the evaporative and operational losses will be replaced so as to assure that no
material injury occurs to senior water rights below the operation site.
STUDY AREA DESCRIPTION
The MCR operation permit area is located neaz the Blue River in Sections 15, 22, and 23,
Township 4 South, Range 78 West of the 6th P.M., approximately 7 miles downstream from Dillon
Reservoir and 16 miles upstream from Green Mountain Reservoir. The proposed MCR operation is
directly across State Highway 9 from the current L.G. Everist operation known as the Love Pit
881-025.110 Wright Water Engineers, Inc. Page 1
