West Elk Mine 2004 Annual Hydrology Report
20
underdrain is located just above the RPE sediment pond. Mine inflows are monitored at sites
where discernable flows are greater than 5 gallons per minute (gpm) and/or where flows last longer
than 7 days. If mine inflows are continuous, they are sampled for laboratory analysis at least
annually. The locations of the mine inflow sampling stations for WY 2004 are shown on Map 1.
A summazy of the underdrain and mine water inflow monitoring program is presented in Table 6.
Table 6
Summary of Underdrain and Mine Inflow Monitoring Program
•
Monitoring Site Flow Measurement Field WQ
(pH, cond, temp) Annual Lab Water
Quality
Underdrains
RP 3 x Year 3 x Year Low Flow Period nl
PE 3 x Year 3 x Year Low Flow Period III
Mine In flows
2TG E3 XC 4.5 n.m. n.m.
