This spring issues from a sandstone bed
above the F Coal Seam, flows seasonally, and is typically dry in the late summer and fall months
(Map 2).
•
3.2.1.2 Springy 26-1
Spring 26-1 is located in a drainage on the west side of the Deep Creek drainage between the
Upper and Lower Deep Creek monitoring stations. Deep Creek is tributary to Raven Gulch and the
North Fork. This spring is above the east side of mine Panel 15 (east mine panel area) and issues
from a sandstone bed above the F Coal Seam. This spring has perennial flow but shows strong
seasonal variations with high flows in the spring months (Map 2).
3.2.1.3 Seep E14-1
E14-1 is a seep located in upper Box Canyon which is tributary to the North Fork and is above the
Box Canyon Panel area. This seep issues from a sandstone bed above the E Coal Seam and has
never flowed. It is damp only during very wet spring months, but is typically dry.
3.2.1.4 Spring 27-1
Spring 27-1 is located in upper Sylvester Gulch (tributary to North Fork) and feeds an area known
as "twin ponds". This spring issues from alluvial sediments and is above the south side of mine
Panel 15 (east mine panel area). Hydrologic monitoring measurements from this station are taken
• at the end of a plastic drain pipe.
August 2005 HydroGeo, Inc.
