Pueblo East Pit
2004-2005 Annual Report
Transit Mix of Pueblo
M-1986-015
Overview of Permit Year: During the 2004-2005 permit year the site was in full
operation. Much of the mining occurred in the new amendment aze on the south side of phase 1.
Mining in this area has recently ceased and backfill operations are currently beginning. Mining
has once again begun in a westward and northward direction.
Annual Report Map: The attached map shows the primazy areas of work and the amount
and type of affected lands.
Affected Lands: The amount of affected lands has not changed drastically from the previous
year. As mining progresses the amount of affected land will increase. Backfilling in the new
amendment area has begun.
Transit Mix is currently working with water engineers to develop a mitigation plan that will
provide for a lifting of the water table. Transit Mix hopes to test one plan in the near future. The
first plan involves a water recharge trench along the western boundary. Based on the water
models produced by Transit Mix's water engineers this structure ,when water is pumped to it,
should recharge the water table in the surrounding area. Transit Mix hopes to begin testing of
this plan in the near future. Transit Mix will be able to tell the success of this plan by review
monitoring well data that will be gathered. The data should show a rise or plateau in water
levels.
Expected Activity: Mining will continue to move north and west. Transit Mix has begun
initial planning stages for Phase 2. Transit Mix expects to submit an amendment for phase 2
some time in 2006.
Bonding: This operation is covered under aself-bonding arrangement.
