1995 H~G Cosl 7994 Annua! Rec/amatron Reoort • 4
• 4.0 SEDIMENT PONDS
4.1 NPDES QUARTERLY REPORTS
All sediment pond discharges were sampled and monitoring data was reported to [he appropriate
Stale and Federal agencies. Copies of [he quarterly monitoring reports are found in Exhibi[ 6.
4.2 QUARTERLY INSPECTIONS
The quarterly inspettion reports are found in Exhibi[ 7. All inspection reports indica[ed there
were no problems with any pond.
4.3 SEDIMENT SURVEY
During 1991, TR-60 (to Modify Sediment Control Struttures) was approved by the Colorado
Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG). The SEDCAD sizing for Explosives Storage Poin[
001, Landfill Point 002, and Shop/Office Point 003, showed [hat bo[h the runoff volume and
[he sediment delivered to each pond is zero. Therefore, adequate sediment storage for these
three ponds is guaranteed.
Due to excellent revegetation success on the reclaimed minesite, sediment delivery to the HG8
pond appears to be insignifican[. More than adequate sediment storage capacity currently exis[s
• in the HG8 pond.
Results of a volumetric summary for sediment volumes in each pond is shown in the following
table.
•
1994 SEDIMENT VOLUMES
Sediment Storage
Capeclty (Acre Feet) Totai Sediment
(Acre Feetl % Sediment Storage
Occupied
Explosive Storage Pt. 001
Design 0
1994 > 0 0 0
Landfill Pt. 002
Design 0
1994 > 0 0 0
ShoplOffice Pt. 003
Design 0
1994 >0 0 0
HG 8 Pt. 004
Design 3.70
1994 > 3.70 0 0
ttvnwatanec.ttrT
OLIO/95 3:alpm WP51/uric TenaMatrix Inc. • P.O.
