Crystal Gray
DIRECTOR
November 10, 2005
ADAMS COUNTY
Division of Minerals and Geology
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
Re: 112 Annual Report - Debetz Pit, Permit # M-1977-283
Deaz DMG:
Parks & Community Resources Department
9755 Henderson Road
Brighton, CO 80601
RnoNE 303.637.8000
rnx 303.637.8015
www.co.adams.co.us
The Debetz Pit was mined for several years by the Adams County Public Works Department as a
source of road base. The County ceased mining operations in 2001.
In the spring of 2005 the Pazks Department, with assistance from the County's Public Works
Department, imported several thousand cubic yazds of topsoil onto the site. Adequate topsoil
was lacking on the site and revegetation efforts had not been successful. The topsoil has been
spread over the site, and a native grass seed mix was planted in April of 2005. The Parks
Department will control noxious weeds on the site and work to establish native grasses. If the
revegetation appears well established in 2006 the County may request mining permit release.
In addition, the Parks Department constructed a new 1800'segment of the South Platte River
Trail along the east side of Debetz Lake this past spring.
Sincerely,
G,~~ /e~~l='~
Marc Pedrucci
Natural Resource Analyst
Adams County Pazks
Cc: Rick Anderson
Craig Tessmer
W.
