As you will recall, the
January, 1997 report addressed the issue of the potential for tailings in the two
Bulldog Mine reclaimed tailings facilities to impact groundwater resources in the
area.
We understand that the evaluation program and results in the January report have
been accepted by DMG as demonstrating that the facilities and related tailings do
not constitute any material potential to impact ground-water resources in the
Bulldog region. We hope that our response addresses the questions raised.
I would like to thank the Division and staff for their ongoing cooperation in relation
to our final reclamation and closure efforts at the Bulldog Mine. If you have any
questions, please don't hesitate to contact me at your convenience.
Very Truly Yours,
~~
cc: D. Holmer, Colorado DOH, WOCD, Denver
P. De Dycker, P.M.
