BLM has posted warning signs and disturbance and
damage from ATV's and other four-wheel drive vehicles has decreased somewhat.
Road construction work was initiated during late fall on the new access road into
the recently amended permit area and future ore reserves located north east of the existing
mine. Construction of this road is expected to require at least two years.
The portion of Eagle County Road #51 which serves as a haul road was treated
with a lignosite dust suppressant. Road base material was replaced on worn areas of the
road at that time.
Approximately 584,000 tons of gypsum rock were shipped from the mine during
2003.
