water discharged .from the Seneca II Miae is not used directly for irrigation. .
Indirectly, although, water discharged from the mina ie significantly diluted by
water from eithei Fish Creek or the Yampa River before it ie diverted and used
for irrigation. No irrigation exists oa Grassy Creek below Seneca II. Due to
the relative amount of dilution by additional water from both sources, the
ambient water qualities o£ Fieh Creek and the Yampa Aiver are the flominant
factors is determining their suitability for irrigation, water discharged from
the Seneca II Miae ie, however, used for livestock watering.
Surface water Sunm~ary. Nearly normal rainfall sad snowfall values resulted is
nearly normal discharge values this year. TDS values at NPDES 604 sad 008 era
increasing at a moderate rate while TDS values at NPDE9 002 aIId 003 are
increasing slightly. Oa lower Grassy Creek (SSG2), TD3 values display a stable
tread. Of the nine eDoil springs monitored, five are exhibiting decreasing HC
treads, while one displays a stable EC tread. Discharges are normally suitable
for livestock, but sometimes exceed water quality standards for irrigation. No
exceedeaces o£ NPDES effluent criteria (Permit No. CO-0000221) occurred this
year. •
