A complete
description of t~ ground water monitoring program may be found oa pages 7-336
to 7-355 of the Seneca II PAP, and is summarized on pages 7-341/342.
The Following discussion o£ the analytical data collected during the reporting
period ie arranged by strnta being monitored and coincides with the format (by
aquifer type) in which the analytical data are presented is Appendix C. The
diacueeioa of water quality will ba limited to a description of total dissolved
solids (TDS) concentrations. A separate section, Comparison of Ground Water
quality to water Uea Standards, will discuss any samples that exceed water use
standards.
Data for each well is thle appendix begins with a listing of the water quality
deter collected during this year, followed by water level meaeuremeata aa8
remarks explaining the sampling procedure. Thin ie followed by a plot of TD9
versus time for the entire period of record. The regression line oa this plot
is generated by a method known ere LONES3 (LOcally NEighted scattexylot •
Smoothing). A smoothness factor of 1.0 (on a scale of 0 to 1) was used, which
results is maximum ^emoothing~. Finally, this plot is followe8 by a table
listing historic TDS values and percent milliequivaleata For major ions.
- Alluvium. Nell 32 is located furthest upstream on Little Graeey Creek.
Review of the TDS plot indicates as increasing trend. Thies i& due to the
eoatributioa of waters from Spoil Syriags 3, 4, sad 5. Further downstream, Nell
6 also dieylaya as increasing TDS trend for similar reasons. Furthest
downstream oa Little Grassy Creek and below NPDES 002, ie Nell 33A. it oleo
displays ea increasing TDS trend.
Three walla are sampled is the Graeey Creak alluvium. Nell 71 monitors the
alluvium upstream of mlaing at Seneca II. It displays en increasing TDS tread.
Nell 33 monitors the Graeey Creek alluvium at the Little Graeey Creek
confluence. St displays as increasing TDS trend. Nell 70 monitors the alluvium
below Seneca II sad also downstream of the confluence with Scotebmans Gulch. it
interestingly displays a decreasing TDS trend. •
6
