• Savage and Savage
Memorandum
To: Donald W. MacDonald, Coors Energy Company
From: Michael Savage, Savage and Savage, Inc.
Date: July 23, 2004
Subject: Third Quarter 2003 Pest and Disease Inspection; Keenesburg Mine
File #: C-81-028
On July 22, 2004 we conducted an inspection of the reclaimed and revegetated azeas at
- the Keenesburg Mine for evidence of plant pests or diseases that could affect the re-
established vegetation at the Keenesburg Mine.
All reclaimed and revegetated azeas of the mine, including the 1985, 1986, 1987, 1995,
1998 interseedings, 1999, 2000, 2002, and 2003 seedings were inspected by pedestrian
and vehicle means. No disease conditions at any ofthe reclaimed and revegetated areas or
within the mine site were observed. No plant pests which had affected the growth of the
. vegetation during the past growing season were encountered. No azeas which
experienced any noxious weed infestation or blight were found during the inspection.
The mine site received more precipitation during June than last yeaz though there has been
no precipitation in July. Significant growth of cool season species (particulazly Indian
ricegrass) was observed in the majority of revegetated azeas. Dry conditions have resulted
in shorter overall size and eazlier anthesis in some individuals in the warm season
component in revegetated azeas at this point in the growing season.
C: Keenesburg Pest and Disease Inspection File
Danny Kipp, Keenesburg Mine

Page 44
