The results of the water quality and quantity analyses
demonstrate that the concentrations of chemical pazameters were within the compliance limits.
However, as in recent yeazs, quite a few ponds and springs continue to show the effects of the
continuing drought in 2003. The Division has the following questions and comments:
Page 2 of.the report states that ground water monitoring well BO1 was destroyed by a
2003 reclamation project. Figure 1 states that B01 is located at the East Mine fan level.
The Division is not aware of any reclamation activities at the East Mine fan level site in
2003. Please explain. Should this borehole be replaced or can borehole B02 provide
sufficient information ?
2. Table 1 on page Tl-1 of the report states that quarterly laboratory parameters aze to be
taken for well MW-2. However, the approved hydrologic monitoring plan for MW-2,
stated on page 2.05-41 of Volume 7 of the permit aplication, shows that no laboratory
pazameters need to be taken. Please revise Table 1 accordingly in future AHRs.
Figure No. 33 for spring S0710 shows a field temperature of 606. Please revise
accordingly.
Office of Office of Colorado
Mined Land Reclamation Ac[ive and Inactive Mines Geological Survey
