The mnstructioa followed pnrdent conswction and <br />engineering practices and the conditions of Technical Revision 25 of 1994. During mnstruc[ion, drawings from <br />the revision, particularly Figure 3 and Figure 4 were used as guidelines. No singular rock within the drain was <br />larger than 9 inches and no more then 10 percent of the rock was less than 1 inch in size. The granular material <br />consisted of non-degradable, nonacid or toxic rock. The geotextile material used was Type l and conformed to <br />AASHTO M 288, surface drainage, Class A. All baclddl material was native soil and was free of any organic <br />matter and free of boulders larger than 4 inches. All joints on the geotextile material had an overlap of a minimum <br />of 24 inches. The rock drain extended well beyond the minimum of 5 feet beyond the pile tce for the waste <br />material as required by the TR. Granular material was carefiilly placed in a controlled manner. No free Fall <br />placement of granular material was allowed. All material was placed and compacted as required by the Technical <br />Revision approved by the Mined Land Reclamation Division of Minerals and Geology. 1, Patricia M.
