Measurable subsidence continues to occur only at Monument "E", a
total of 1.63 feet to date. The measured displacement of the
monument during the reporting period was 0.94 feet, and is ex-
pected to continue to show only minor subsidence as the cave area
consolidates. All other water lines show only minor or no subsi-
dence (refer to Table 2), including Monument "F" which was ap-
proached by development mining operations. It is anticipated
that only minor subsidence will continue to occur at the water
line monuments.
Thompson Ranch Structures
All data pertaining to the three ranch structures is presented on
Table 3, Subsidence Monitoring Data Summary, for the period of
record. No subsidence was detected at any of the structures,
which is consistent with previous semi-annual periods. Only
minor subsidence is anticipated to occur in the area of the
structures.
Newlin Creek Monument
Data for the period of this report for the Newlin Creek Monument
is shown on Table 3, Subsidence Monitoring Data Summary. Total
displacement of the monument for the reporting period was only
0.03 feet, and total displacement to date has slightly decreased
as compared to the previous semi-annual report period. The New-
lin Creek stream channel in the area of the monument appears to
be stable, and only minor additional subsidence is anticipated to
occur.
Conclusions
The required subsidence monitoring program continues to monitor
displacement and orientation changes of structures and monuments.
No damage of the monitored structures has been observed to date.
It is anticipated that only minor subsidence will continue to
occur at the structures and monuments, and total subsidence will
be within values predicted in the mining permit.
