Bentonite blankets shall be inspected for teazs or aeeas <br />of bentonite loss. <br />3.4.1.1 Defective/damaged materials shall be identified via a deficiency report, <br />either separately or on the Daily Report. Actions taken to resolve or <br />correct the problem will also be recorded on the similaz form. <br />3.4.1.2 Defects, holes, blisters, undispersed raw materials, signs of contamination <br />by foreign matter, unacceptable welds in geomembranes and other <br />unsatisfactory conditions will be identified on the Daily Report form. The <br />repair/corrective action to "fix" the problem will also be recorded on a <br />s :filar form. <br />3.4.2 Evaluation <br />Each suspect location both in seam and non-seam areas shall be non destructively tested <br />using the methods described in Section 3.3.7 as appropriate. Each location which fails <br />the non-destructive testing shall be mazked by ILPI and repaired. Work shall not proceed <br />with any materials which cover locations which have been repaired until laboratory test <br />results with passing values aze available. <br />3.4.3 Repair Procedures <br />3.4.3.1 Geomembrane Repair Procedures <br />Any portion of the geomembrane failing a destructive ornon-destructive test shall <br />be repaired. Several procedures exist For the repair of these aeeas. The final <br />decision as to the appropriate repair procedure shall be agreed upon between the <br />Project Manager and ILPI. The procedures available include: <br />Patching -Used to repair lazge holes, teazs, and contamination by foreign <br />matter; <br />Buffing and re-welding -used to repair small sections of extruded seams; <br />Spot welding or seaming -used to repair small teazs, pinholes, or other <br />minor localized flaws; <br />Capping -used to repair lazge lengths of failed seams; and <br />Topping -used to repair aeeas of inadequate seams which have an exposed <br />edge. <br />[n addition, the following seams shall be satisfied: <br />26 <br />
