<br />Insert needle or other pressure feed device into the tunnel created by the <br />fusion weld; <br />Energize the air pump to a pressure between 2~ and 30 psi (160 and 200 <br />kPa), close valve, and sustain pressure for approximately five minutes; <br />If Loss of pressure exceeds above listed values, or does not stabilize, locate <br />faulty azea and repair in accordance with Section 3.4; <br />Remove needle or other approved pressure feed device and seal; and <br />Pressure tested seams aze recorded on Daily Progress Reports (Figure 6). <br />3.3.8 Destructive Testing <br />3.3.8.1 Concept <br />Destructive seam tests shall be performed at random selected locations. The <br />purpose of these tests is to check that welds are fully integrated with each other <br />and to evaluate seam strength. Seam strength testing shall be done as the seaming <br />~o'ork progresses, not at the completion of all field seaming. <br />3.3.8.2 Location and Frequency <br />The Owner and/or Owner's Representative shall select locations where seam <br />samples shall be cut. These locations shall be established as follows: <br />A frequency shall be agreed upon by ILP[ and the Project Manager at the <br />Resolution and/or Pre-Construction Meeting. Unless otherwise specified, <br />destructive samples should be pulled at intervals of 1 sample for every X00 <br />linear feet of weld. <br />The seaming technician shall not be informed in advance of the locations <br />where seam samples will be taken. <br />3.3.8.3 Sampling Procedure <br />Samples shall be cut by ILPI as the seaming progresses in order to have the <br />laboratory test results before the geomembrane is covered by another material <br />[LP[ shall <br />Cut samples; <br />2? <br />
