Energy Fuels Mining Company <br />Raton Creek Mine <br />1997 ANNUAL RECLAMATION REPORT <br />Introduction <br />The Annual Reclamation Report documents backfilling, grading, topsoiling, and seeding <br />activities conducted by Energy Fuels Mining Company (EFMC) at the Raton Creek Mine <br />during the 1997 calendar year. This report includes tent, discussion, and a map in accordance <br />with the requirements of Rule 2.04.13. Raton Creek remained in permanent cessation - <br />reclamation status during the reporting period. <br />Reclamation work, subject to this report, included only preliminary vegetation success <br />determination. Information about the 1997 reclamation work is discussed below. <br />Disturbed Areas <br />No additional acreage was disturfied during the reporting period. <br />~kfilled and Graded Areas <br />No areas were backfilled and graded during the reporting period. <br />Tonsoiled Areas <br />No areas were topsoiled during the reporting period. <br />Revegetated Areas <br />No areas were revegetated during the reporting period. <br />Previou y Rev~gtated Areas <br />EFMC revegetated approximately 26 acres of the reclaimed mine site area during the spring <br />and fall of 1995. Limited reseeding was conducted in 1996. The outline of the revegetated <br />area, and reseeded areas, are shown on the map accompanying this report. <br />Determination of Reve¢etation Success <br />EFMC personnel monitored the site for vegetation establishment during the reporting period. <br />Near the end of the growing season, EFMC met with Ken Lutz from the local soil <br />conservation district to evaluate the vegetation success and erosion conditions at the mine site. <br />Mr. Lutz's inspection report, attached hereto, states that the vegetation success after two <br />years' growth is excellent considering soil and climatic conditions. <br />
