That application is close to completion and will be submitted very soon; however, the
1998 Year-end Subsidence Report is due to the Division tomorrow, April 30'x. MCC respectfully
requests that submittal of a subsidence report be postponed.
MCC's current subsidence monitoring program involves the monitoring of a grid, which consists
of permanent monuments that aze surveyed twice per year. In the past several yeazs, the grid has
not shown movement related to subsidence. The report that is due tomorrow would consist of
the latest survey data from the grid, which continues to show very little movement. It is MCC's
intention to provide in the technical revision application, the most recent survey data from the
grid collected in 1998, justification for removing the grid from the monitoring program, and a
proposal for a new monitoring program and a new reporting format. Once the Division has
approved the revision, MCC will submit a subsidence report for 1998 in the new format.
Please call if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Christine E.
Permitting ~
cc: Henry Bazbe
Phil Schmidt
98yesub doc
