<br />' Professional History
<br />Present. Field BotanisdEcologist with Colorado Natural Heritage Program. Conduct inventory
<br />' for rare and sensitive plant species, and significant natural communities. Work includes field
<br />surveys, data collection and processing, plant taxonomy. 1994 projects were on Arapaho National
<br />Forest and U.S. Air Force Academy. Also half owner of consulting company Landscape,
<br />Resource, Ecosystem Planning, Inc., conducting botanical and wildlife studies, assisting with
<br />' report writing, business management, and bookkeeping.
<br />1993, Winter. On contract with Colorado Natural Heritage Program to write descriptions of rare
<br />' plants for a book to be published on threatened, endangered, and sensitive plant species of Pike
<br />and San Isabel National Forests.
<br />1991-1993. Assistant Riparian Ecologist, The Nature Conservancy. Assisted with inventory
<br />' and classification of riparian plant communities in the San Miguel, Dolores, White, and Colorado
<br />river watersheds. Work included researching existing knowledge of vegetation types, mapping
<br />plant communities, selecting and sampling representative plots, identifying rare and undisturbed
<br />' plant communities, entering data, and assisting in the analysis and interpretation of data.
<br />1982-1990. Professional Research Assistant, Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research. Assisted
<br />' with plant ecology field and laboratory work for ecosystem studies in the Colorado alpine and
<br />Alaskan arctic. Work included vegetation mapping, plant cover and productivity sampling, plant
<br />taxonomy, soils analysis, data entry, editing manuscripts, obtaining and cataloging the reference
<br />collection, digitizing and editing GIS files, and supervising technicians.
<br />' 1982. Field Assistant, University of Alaska. Assisted a graduate student in her thesis project of
<br />studying vegetation characteristics ofmuskox habitat in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Work
<br />included arranging logistics for and maintaining the 3-month field camp, vegetation sampling, plant
<br />taxonomy, and muskox behavior observations.
<br />1980-1981. Wildlife and Plant Ecology Technician, Stoecker-Keammerer & Associates
<br />' Ecological Consultants. Assisted in baseline vegetation and wildlife studies for reclamation of
<br />land to be strip-mined. Field work included vegetation productivity studies (clip harvests), bird
<br />censuses, small mammal live-trapping, and big game pellet counts.
<br />' 1979-1980. Wildlife Technician, Denali National Park, Alaska. During the summers between
<br />college semesters, I located and monitored critical wildlife habitat such as raptor nests and wolf
<br />' dens. Assisted in censuses of Dall sheep and ground squirrels, and in moose behavior
<br />observations.
