Nocturnal black-footed ferret transects (survey area 1 [-], survey area 2 <br />[-], and survey area 3 [--]) surveyed August 7-10, 1994 by 3, 2-person crews on and <br />around the Dowe Flats project area. Surveys totalled 71 hours, 59 minutes along 381.59 <br />N miles of transects. Survey coverage was based on the ultimate mine pit perimeter and the <br />1,212.0 acre Apri] 1, 1994 prairie dog distribution (yellow shading). The ultimate mine pit <br />perimeter represented the impact area, around which a 0.5 mile zone ( )was <br />circumscribed.
