1
Honeywood Coal Company
1993 Annual Hydrologic Report
' Page 4
BW-2 is located in the northwest corner of the permit area. This
' well has not contained measurable quantities of water during
thirteen monitoring quarters, from the fourth quarter of 1990
through 1993.
' BW-3 is located southeast of the mining area. This well has
contained measurable quantities of water during two of thirteen
calendar quarters, from the fourth quarter of 1990 through 1993.
The well was noted as dry during 1993.
Consumptive Use
' Consumptive use of water at the mine is for dust control. During
the year a water truck obtained water from Naturita Creek as
necessary for dust control. No records were maintained of the
amount of water used for dust control.
Anticipated Impact
' There was no recorded flow of surface water from the permit or
adjacent area into either Naturita Creek or the San Miguel River
' during the year. Bramiers Draw, Section 33 Creek and Broad Canyon
were all noted as dry during the year. There was no discharge from
the sediment ponds during the year and all of the minor surface
run-off from the mine was contained in the ponds. As anticipated
' the mine pits did not encounter any ground water during the year.
Based upon the above factors, it is unlikely that the mine
operation had any impact on the hydrologic balance of the area.

1
