M.E. (Gene) Larson
Consulting Geologist
10 A Town Plaza, # 132
Durango, CO. S 1301
April 15, 1992
TO: National King Coal, lnc.
SUBJECT: Quarterly lnspection, Huntington Ditch, First Quarter, 1992
I) The Huntington Ditch was partially inspected on April 4, 1992, but
most areas were inaccessible due to deep snow. The entire ditch was
inspected on April 15, 1992, from SW 1/4 of Section 28 through the
SE 1/4 of Section 31.
2) The ditch is in good condition. Some debris, in the forms of brush,
limbs, rocks, and bank sloughs, is partially restricting the flow. The
ditch remains well within its banks. Some cleaning and maintenance
is recommended in the near future.
3) The realigned section of the ditch immediately over Mining
Section 1 North was carefully inspected and no disturbance was
noted.
4) No evidence of leakage or damage due to effects of underground
mining was observed.
5) The purpose of this inspection was to insure protection of the
Huntington Ditch and the National King Coal Mine. Additionally, such
quarterly inspections are required by the Colorado Mined Land
Reclamation Division.
~^--
Marvin E Larson
Consulting Geologist
