• Witli the exception of Sediment Pond 2 alid the Dugout Pond all previously existing <br />man-made temporary pond sites have been removed from the drainage control <br />activity. This was determined to be possible since; 1) the sedimentation level <br />in Sediment Pond 2 leas been virtually non-existent after twelve years of use, 2) <br />Sediment Pond 2 has not had airy significant amount of water stored in it for more <br />than a 24-hour period (except during the unusual and prolonged periods of excess <br />precipitation in 1995), and 3) even considering the unusual events of 1995 there has <br />never been any observed spillway discharge from Sediment Pond 2. Again, the <br />Dugout Pond will remain as a permanent impoundment when site reclamation is <br />complete. <br /> <br /> <br />AI IA-1997 -8 2 - <br />
