The material mined consisted of taking
down material on existing disturbed areas as shown on the enclosed map and cutting down the slope of
the East side of the pit on undisturbed soil of approximately 200' x 30'. The 200'x30' strip had less than
2° of topsoil and what little topsoil that could be saved was. Reclamation to date has been to store what
little topsoil is available at the pit in anticipation of future reclamation.
New disturbances expected in the year 2005 include stockpiling topsoil at the top East end of the pit in
order to continue to take down the grade of the pit. It is expected that any topsoil that can be salvaged on
a 10 foot by 400 foot section of the East side of the pit will be salvaged as possible. It is expected this
year we will mine more than 10 thousand tons of material between the period of January 1, 2005 to
December 31, 2005.
Please contact Brad Palmer, Road & Bridge Director Lake County at 71986-0259 should you have any
questions.
Sincerely, /~
~,~,otl/ I(~./J
Brad Palmer
Director
