• � III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII <br /> 999 <br /> MINUTES PAGE 10 <br /> AGENDA ITEM 28 - NOTTINGHAM SAND AND GRAVEL, 77-343 <br /> Staff presentation was made by Reclamation Specialist, Carol Russell, <br /> regarding the Avon Pit, 60 acre sand and gravel operation, permit amendment. <br /> The mine as proposed in the amendment will extend approximately 4,000 feet in <br /> length and 800 feet in width in the area between I-70 and the Eagle River. <br /> Other items noted on the map are the Avon stolport and the Nottingham and <br /> Puder Irrigation Ditch. Staff recommended approval of the amendment with <br /> stipulations. Those stipulations are outlined in ATTACHMENT J. <br /> Mr. Randy Nottingham and Mr. Michael McCarthy were present and responded to <br /> questions from the board. <br /> It was MOVED that the board approve the permit amendment, File No. 77-343, <br /> with the four stipulations suggested by the staff with the changes made in <br /> Stipulation 3 as follows: Line 4, delete "to a safety factor of 1 .5." and <br /> Line 7, delete "to 1.5,". SECONDED and PASSED UNANIMOUSLY. <br /> BOARD MEMBER, Sherman Blach, returned to the meeting. <br /> AGENDA ITEM 29 - NOTTINGHAM SAND AND GRAVEL, 78-352 <br /> G�6y AGENDA ITEM 30 - NOTTINGHAM SAND AND GRAVEL, 78-352 <br /> Staff presentation was made by Reclamation Specialist, Carol Russell , <br /> regarding a 52 acre sand and gravel operation, permit amendment, and a request <br /> from Mr. Robert J. Stemwedel , Jr. representing The Eagle River 1978 Trust, for <br /> a formal public hearing, ATTACHMENT K. <br /> Staff indicated that the operator realized that his operation was in violation <br /> and came in with an amendment. The operator has requested continuance to the <br /> June Board Meeting because of zoning problems. <br /> After consideration of the correspondence presented and testimony heard, it <br /> was MOVED that the operator' s request for continuance to the June Board <br /> Meeting be approved and that the matter be set under formal public hearing on <br /> the permit amendment. It was further MOVED that the formal public hearing <br /> would not be held to hear the contention oT alleged violation. SECONDED and <br /> PASSED by a Vote of 5 for/l opposed (Sherman Blach) . <br />
