The preliminary stability analyses can be <br />confirmed when this data is available. Periodic checks of the density <br />should be made. This type of testing is relatively si~~~ple:.for experienced <br />personnel, and considering the slow rate of production, wee suggest that <br />this service be contracted with a qualified testing laboratory. Based on <br />our current estimates of the rate of production, it appears that density <br />testing will be required approximately once each 6 months during the con- <br />struction period of the anticipated disposal site. If refuse and waste <br />materials develop at a faster rate, it may be necessary to increase the fre- <br />quency of testing. Frequency of testing is based on an assumption that ap- <br />pro ximateTy one foot of fill can be developed in a 6-month period. <br />LI~4ITATIONS <br />The recommendations and conclusions ores ented in this report are based <br />on a preliminary investigation of the site and our experience with similar <br />types of construction. Considering the planned method and types of material <br />to be used, conditions could change as the disposal site develops.. We sug- <br />gest that a representative of our office be on-site during preparation of <br />the drainage system and that periodic testing be ,rode to determine the <br />strength and density characteristics of the refuse material. <br /> <br />
